Limits & specifications
Every hard number in one place — survey size, file sizes, accepted formats and rate limits.
Plan limits
Commercial limits come with your plan and are counted per usage month, which starts on the day your workspace was created. Reaching the response cap never refuses a respondent — the surplus is stored in full and unlocks on upgrade; see the plans page.
| Limit | Free | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Responses per usage month | 100 | 2000 | 15000 |
| Active surveys | 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Seats | 1 | 3 | 10 |
How big a survey can be
These caps exist to keep surveys answerable. A survey that hits them is usually a survey that should be split in two — completion rates fall off a cliff long before you reach any of these numbers.
| Limit | Maximum |
|---|---|
| Survey name | 2–200 characters |
| Survey title (each language) | 200 characters |
| Description / thank-you message (each language) | 2000 characters |
| Link length | 17 characters at most |
| Pages per survey | 10 |
| Elements on one page | 20 |
| Options in one choice question | 50 |
| Rows in one table | 10 |
| Columns in one table | 6 |
| Images per survey | 10 |
| Size of one image | 3 MB |
| Saved templates per workspace | 20 |
How much a respondent can type
Every question that takes typing has a character limit. Respondents cannot type past it, and a counter appears beside the field as they approach it — the same counter you see under a survey's name when you create one.
| Question type | Default limit |
|---|---|
| Short answer | 200 characters |
| Long answer | 2000 characters |
| 320 characters | |
| Phone | 32 characters |
| Number | 15 digits |
Each one can be changed per question. Select the question in the builder and set its Character limit — anything from 1 to 5000. Clear the field to go back to the default.
Files respondents upload
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Size of one file | 3 MB |
| Files per response | 20 |
| Accepted formats | JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, PDF, TXT, CSV, DCM, XML, JSON, DOCX, XLSX, XLS, ZIP |
A file is accepted if either its format or its file extension is on the list — office documents often report an unhelpful format, so the extension is the fallback. Uploads that are never attached to a submitted response are deleted automatically after a day.
Rate limits
The platform slows down anyone acting far faster than a person could. Ordinary use never comes close to these; if you do see a «too many» message, waiting a minute clears it.
| Action | Allowed per minute |
|---|---|
| Submitting a response | 5 |
| Uploading a file | 20 |
| Downloading a response file | 60 |
| Requesting a new sign-in code | Once every 45 seconds |
Accounts and passwords
- Passwords need at least 8 characters and must include a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number and a symbol.
- Passwords found in known public breaches are refused outright.
- There is no self-service sign-up: staff accounts are created by invitation from an admin.
- The workspace must always keep at least one admin.
- Each account may register up to 10 passkeys — enough for every device you use, few enough that the list stays recognisable. Remove an old one to add another.
What the platform does not do (yet)
Being straight about the gaps saves everyone a search:
- No saving a half-finished response. Respondents complete a survey in one sitting.
- No editing after submission. A respondent who made a mistake has to contact the team.
- No charts for table questions. A table's answers appear in full in the responses list and in exports, and the charts view shows how many people answered it — but each row is not plotted separately.
- No question-skipping logic in the builder right now. Every respondent sees every question on a page. Split the survey across pages when different groups need different questions.
